Man whose pot house blew up is arrested

Posted on October 25th, 2007 by mpress101

This happened a couple of blocks from my house. I thought we were under attack. After everyone in the neighborhood got a contact high.

Nearly seven months after Miami-Dade police say he accidentally blew up his house while growing marijuana inside, Edel Mesa has been arrested.pot.jpg

Mesa, 40, still recovering in a jail hospital ward, was charged with arson, attempted trafficking in marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said Thursday.

On April 7, firefighters were called to an explosion at a house at 10130 SW 34th St.

Officers found 41 live marijuana plants inside, along with high-intensity lights, fertilizer and an indoor irrigation system.

According to an arrest form released Thursday, Mesa had used a 100-pound propane tank to power a carbon-dioxide generator to “accelerate the growth of the marijuana plants.”

But the line was not connected properly and propane gas seeped into a room inside the house. The explosion collapsed the house, injuring Mesa’s wife and severly burning him.

Investigators found his shoes and a butane lighter under the generator. The damage to the house was estimated at $200,000.

Mesa was charged with arson because the explosion happened during the commission of a felony, in this case operating a grow-house, police said.

    This article is messed up.
I know this man, he is very nice and makes me mac and cheese when I go over and laughs when I and his daughter, plus our best friend wear creepy ‘goth’ or ‘chonga’ make-up!
Don’t make him sound like he owns a freaking laboratory.
A laboratory is a facility where actual people are paid to grow to experiment, test, and whatnot.
Not a business where you grow it to feed your 4 kids and try to give them a nice life.
This really pissed me off. Get the facts straight.
The media puts shit into peoples mouth and makes things sound a whole lot worse than REALITY already is.
Fucking pigs. Miami Herald was wrong.
    And the wife?
    Marlene was fine :3
She spanks my butt or something whenever I show up with my hair a random color.
This article is all wrong, correct it.
