Who is Killing the NFL’s Best Players

Family members mourn the death of Sean Taylor, top. Taylor, center right, died Tuesday after suffering a gunshot wound to the groin. Taylor’s girlfriend, Jackie Garcia, center left, was in the home at the time. Redskins fans reflect, bottom.

“He was one of the most positive young men I’ve ever been around,”

“He wasn’t a perfect kid, he wasn’t a perfect citizen, but none of us are,”

“Police had no motive and no indication the 24-year-old player was targeted”

“When he was younger, he always gravitated to the wrong crowd,”

“I remember he went to church and the minister was talking to him about needing to pray and stop hanging around with the wrong people, and he started straightening up and doing the right thing.”

These quotes are not about Sean Taylor. They are eerily similar to quotes attributed to Sean’s life as spoken by those who knew him. But these quotes are about another 24 year old NFL Player who on Jan. 1, 2007 was also murdered, Darrent Williams.

A native of Ft. Worth Texas, Williams was a star player in high school. He had his run-ins with the law but nothing serious, and his high school coaches say if nothing else , the NFL had straightened him out.

Today the Head Coach of the Washington Redskins said, “With Sean, I always respected how much he loved football. It’s what he felt like he was made to do. What I’ve noticed in the last year and a half is … he matured. His baby had a huge impact on him.” “It’s hard to expect a man to grow up overnight,” Portis said. “But ever since he had his child, it was like a new Sean, and everybody around here knew it. He was always smiling, always happy, always talking about his child.”

Both Players also played the street, but the street game isn’t break it up, 15 yards and a fine. the streets are forever and if you play the “thug Life” it always plays you back. I doubt these murders were random, these murders were committed by scumbags who knew the victims or knew who they were shooting when they pulled the trigger..

Taylor’s cousin, Florida State University safety Anthony Leon, said Taylor was trying to shed some troublemaking friends he had grown up with. Leon, who said he spent his morning crying and praying in his dorm room, said Taylor had “started to calm down.”

”He’s been trying to stay away from bad company — especially for his daughter’s sake,” Leon said. “Sean wasn’t a bad guy at all. He’s got his personality on the football field and off it. All he was trying to do was protect his family. And they shot him.’…..

Taylors cousin said it all “they shot him” Taylors killer is no different than the thug that killed Darrent Williams they might as well be twins. I suggest high profile NFL players take an inventory of who their entourage consists of and sleep next to a loaded gun.

Doctor opposition to health care overhaul proposals is broad and deep, revealing concerns not just about soaring costs, declining care, possible rationing and a lack of limits on malpractice suits, but also about government competence and motives, detailed responses to a new IBD/TIPP Poll show. As reported Wednesday, 65% of the 1,376 practicing physicians who responded to a mailed questionnaire over the last two weeks said they opposed health care plans that have emerged from the administration and Congress. Just 33% supported them.
