The Miami-Dade Police Department says it has arrested four people in
connection with the shooting death of Washington Redskins football star
Sean Taylor.Miami-Dade police department spokeswoman Linda O’Brien identified
the men as: Venjah K. Hunte, 20; Eric Rivera Jr., 17; Jason Scott
Mitchell, 17; and Charles Kendrick Lee Wardlow, 18. O’Brien said that
the exact charges for each had not yet been determined but “we are
talking murder and burglary,” she said. They were arrested Friday in southwest Florida, about 100 miles from
Miami. They will be booked into the Lee County Jail and will eventually
be returned to Miami, she said. She did not have any information on
when they would appear in court or if they had attorneys.Taylor died Tuesday, one day after being shot at his home in an
affluent Miami suburb during what officials said appeared to be an
attempted burglary. The suspects weren’t expecting Taylor to be home,
said police Director Robert Parker said, but Taylor was recuperating
from a knee injury and had returned home to Miami from Washington.“They were certainly not looking to go there and kill anyone,”
Parker said. Parker said authorities had more than one confession but
would not elaborate.“We’re looking into whether or not one or more of the individuals had been at the residence before,” Parker said.
The Miami Herald said investigators believe the men learned of
Taylor’s house through someone who unwittingly set up the burglary by
bragging about his wealth. The suspects include two teenagers and a man
in his 20s, the paper reported.Source: www3.wsvn.com

What i’m confused about is the police saying the men said there intent was not to kill or shoot anyone. than why when the door was locked did they kick it in and immediatley fire 2 shots off. Yeah that really shows there wasn’t a motive to kill.
“They were certainly not looking to go there and kill anyone”. Maybe not, but at least one of them had a gun and was prepared to kill if needed. They could have left when they heard noises from the bedroom, but again, one of them, at least went to the bedroom door and confronted Taylor, if ever so briefly. They could have left. The spin some people put on these stories is just plain ridiculous.
This is a bunch of baloney. Burglars who don’t intend to kill someone don’t kick down the locked bedroom door of a big NFL player. There is more to the story than the police are willing to say, because someone - either his girlfriend or a fmily member is involved.
Is Parker saying that Taylor should have put a sign on the door saying that he was home so that he could still be alive? Has Parker always excused the thugs that shoot and kill store clerks for being behind the cash registers because they went inside with guns, but didn’t mean to shoot them several times?
Parker sounds more like a criminal defender, than a public servant.
Sean Taylor life will be his Gift to to the world!! my blessings to to tje Family !!
Being a Washigton football Die hard to have a player to be remember as one of the greatest hitter in the game i say thank you.
Are you kidding me Joe? His girlfriend or a family member involved is ridiculous. What I think happened is the door to taylors bedroom was locked and they kicked it open to get inside and search the room for goods. After they kicked the door in a 6′2 220 pound NFL safety is standing behind the door with a machete and the gun wielding dumbass panicked and shot him with the intent to stop himself getting killed. I’m not trying to justify the killing and I hope all 4 get life without parole..
However, Taylor’s childhood friend and Arizona Cardinals cornerback Antrel Rolle thinks otherwise:
“This was not the first incident,” Rolle said. “They’ve been targeting him for three years now.”
Rolle said many former “friends” had it in for Taylor, who was trying to build a more stable life.
“He really didn’t say too much,” Rolle said, “but I know he lived his life pretty much scared every day of his life when he was down in Miami because those people were targeting him. At least, he’s got peace now.” [...]
“They say it was a burglary. It absolutely was not a burglary,” he said. “Down South, where we’re from, there were many people targeting Sean, a lot of jealousy, a lot of angry people. Rolle may have some insight on the case (or at the very least, thinks he has), as he and Taylor, whose fathers were policemen in Homestead, Fla., have lived mirroring lives since they started playing football together at age 6. They went on to become University of Miami teammates and NFL first-round draft picks. Both wore No. 21, Rolle for the Cardinals, Taylor for the Washington Redskins.
I can’t accept what the police are saying. There are too many illogical things with this incident. Taylor might have changed, but grudges don’t die. Whoever had a problem with him wanted a solution. I have to believe what Antrel Rolle is saying over what the police are saying. Rolle and Taylor were brothers from other mothers. They grew up together.
