$100,000 Worth of Paintings Destroyed in Miami Art Gallery fire

Note to self no helium ballons near electrical wires
I’ts a shame since there is a growing fashion and art district in downtown Miami in an area that has been neglected for over 30yrs
MIAMI (WSVN) — Fire Rescue officials say a fluke electrical blaze at an art gallery early Tuesday claimed an estimated $100,000-worth of paintings.
Miami Fire Rescue responded to a fire at the Harold Golen Gallery, located at 2921 NW 6th Ave., around 3:30 a.m.
Fire rescue officials believe a helium-filled balloon, flying over the art gallery as advertisement during Art Basel, may have caused the fire. Authorities suspect the balloon, secured on the side of the building, hit electrical wires, which then sparked a short circuit. The electrical box in the facility’s storage room was blown out.
