Castro Legacy Lefts Despair and Power

Earth Times reports: - Cuban state television late Tuesday aired the first new images of Fidel Castro in five months. The short video clip was shot during a 90-minute meeting Tuesday morning that the ailing Cuban former leader and his successor and brother, Raul Castro, held with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.

The fact that so many prominent people in the world admire and respect Fidel Castro might make even the ultimate optimist a little nervous about the future. College professors by 80% think Fidel as a hero and many feel he represents their failed attempt of revolution here in America circa 1968. Most of the Anti-American left after taking over college campuses as radical students pursued careers as Master Indoctrinators in Academia(tenured professors). Edward Bernard Glick a professor emeritus of political science at Temple University summed it up by saying:

When the Soviet Union collapsed, Marxism collapsed in Russia and in Eastern Europe. But it survived in U.S. universities, where politically-correct feelings are now more important than knowledge, and where politically-correct emotions are now more important than logic and critical thinking. Our students and graduates are well trained, but badly educated. Outside of what they must learn to make a living, they don’t know very much. But they have been taught to feel sad, angry or guilty about their country and its past. Their professors don’t make the big bucks in America. What their professors do earn, however, are huge psychological incomes in the form of power — the power to shape the minds of their students and the power to influence their colleagues who want raises, sabbaticals. grants, promotions, and tenure. One of the best ways to influence students, colleagues, and the citizenry at large is to hire, promote, and tenure only those people who agree with you. Duke University is a case in point. Some time ago, its psychology chairman was asked in a radio interview if his department hired Republicans. He answered: “No. We don’t knowingly hire them because they are stupid and we are not.”

Many high profile journalists and Hollywood stars are in awe of Fidel Castro. Jesse Jackson kissed him. Barbra Walters had an orgasm while in Fidel’s presence, even Arnold’s wife Maria left her interview with Fidel “feeling a little light headed”. Why?

Fidel was responsible for the insane act of accepting Russian Nuclear weapons in Cuba and barely triggering a Nuclear War between the USA and Russia.Might that make him a little “mad” like in “crazy”

These are facts which can not be disputed. For 50 years Fidel has jailed and killed tens of thousands of his own people for speaking their minds. He created an Island prison where his own people are so desperate to be free they risk their lives in shark infested waters as foreigners comfortably fly overhead into Havana for some sun and fun in places the average Cuban is forbidden to go. It is mind boggling. How can the left in America believe in free speech and individualism if they admire Fidel who despises freedom of speech and individualism. The recent attacks on speech at college campuses against conservative speakers is proof that tolerance is not a virtue of the left. But how can that be. Weren’t the racists and intolerant on the right? It just does not make sense. Does the left show admiration for Fidel just to piss off the ardent Anti- Communists who where on Ronald Reagan’s side in the cold war? Because the leftist in America was not on Ronald Reagan’s side as far as this writer remembers. They hated Reagan.

Was the left so mad about being on the wrong side of history that they made heroes out of Fidel and Che knowing how it would get under the skin of their political enemies on the right or do they believe Fidel Castro is their vision of the way things should be. Which is it? Maybe both…mpress

As reported Wednesday, 65% of the 1,376 practicing physicians who responded to a mailed questionnaire over the last two weeks said they opposed health care plans that have emerged from the administration and Congress. Just 33% supported them.
